Not to be confused with organic Holistic. There is a difference. Holistic means management of foods in an ecological and beyond dates back to the simpler, more natural method. Organic food basically means the land and resources in a natural way (grain fed, no additives or pesticides, etc.). One might say Holistic is a way of life, while organic is just a better diet. In both cases it is much better than the typical supermarket brands (like Iams, which alsoFriskies or Whiskas and makes Eukaneuba).
If you put the word on the human organic food, you can pretty much guarantee double the price. Of course, things are different for each country. The same can be used for holistic pet food. Some are quite expensive, but if you read the more you see why I personally feel that anything is better holistic instead of a grocery store brand. You have to get what you pay for everything.
Sure, cats eat anything, but the low gradeGrocery food store full of fillers. I have the view that: "My mother cat food cats BrandX eaten for years and never had a problem" is one of many, many times. As a rule, animals that have long since outgrown. Remember 10-20 years ago, but not nearly as much poison we breathe in our food, water and even air. Today, however, our bodies break down with an infinite number of things, and try to destroy our natural immune system bombed. Let me give you some of the holistic cat food my cats have tried. Merrick, Chicken Soup for the Soul of the Cat Lover, natural balance and I have. Now feed exclusively on the basis of their spa-core quality at a reasonable price and, frankly, its availability in our local pet store.
You surely recognize some of these brands. The next time you are at the pet store, you compare a holistic pet foodDiet or Iams, or even for Whiskas Royal Canin and Science. What you are looking for is the absence of by-products and any type of wheat, corn or corn flour. Cats are required (true) carnivores, but many commercial pet foods are composed mainly of cheap grain. These grains are fillers and are not needed in all the nutrition your cat. If you see corn or wheat or corn flour in the first 5 ingredients, find another cat food. It's no different feeding your cat corn.

Meat and poultry products are exposed-parts of what remains after the slaughter, everything deemed unfit for consumption. In cattle and sheep, including the brain, liver, kidneys, spleen, lungs, blood, bone, adipose tissue, stomach and intestine. Items on this list, usually of people, such as the liver would have been eaten, diseased or contaminated before they could bedesignated for pet food. Byproducts of poultry heads, feet, intestines, undeveloped eggs, chicken feathers and eggshells.
Why you may ask, pets can eat food like that? Then bucket of mud "flesh" is processed, bound with wheat or corn. Then it is seasoned with fat. The animal smells that flavored dry food glorious fat. Do not you wonder / eat.
The number one reason why I will always feed is holistic, because cats absorb more of the good things in themselvesfood. They have skin and coat, increased vitality and improved energy increase, and are less seat - a stool a lot less smelly!
A more interesting cat and "pure" food holistic who have tried and liked is Wysong. Wsyong processing methods are what really interested me though.

It is one of his firm conviction that the processing of conventional foods (too much heat to cook and keep) destroyed much too much for the essential nutrients for a healthy and balanced diet is necessary. Wysong methods of processing and storage only make him a leader in excellent quality holistic pet food. Definitely worth reading his numerous articles and documentation on their pet food.
Now I'm not saying that science diet is Royal Caninnot good products. They are not only the holistic brands. This is half the level of quality and Whiskas and Friskies cat food would be low-grade quality.
A product that I always recommend to people who feed their pets better, but not capable of high-end holistic pet food can, I have to. I have two levels of very decent food for cats. This is more than food prices (but not at the grocery store), and the other is a bit 'better, but still too expensive.Try Nutro cat or Maxx is their trademark high-end, natural choice. Although not complete, the marks have NO product, and little grain. I have had some excellent food holistic dog and a trademark.
It 'a fact Canadian holistic pet food, to my knowledge. Orijen grew up in Alberta with the Canadian meat and fish, produce and grain. If Orijen was sold at my local Pet Valu, I'd buy it!
Learning to read cat food labels can be difficult. But with a little 'effort, you can learn to feed your beloved cats the healthiest choices available. Your cats will thank you! And so will your pocketbook.
